Where traditional streaming methods fail

Despite the vast size of the internet, content delivery strategies are often limited by the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP). The BGP was designed to route data efficiently between autonomous systems, but it lacks the contextual awareness needed for live streaming. In an attempt to overcome BGP’s limitations, some streaming providers turn to what’s known as the “spray and pray” method. It can create unnecessary congestion and increase operational costs, and still doesn’t guarantee consistent QoE for end users.
